We will be discontinuing our present version of the MF-12 and coming out with a different version that can be used to ignite not only your rockets ejection charge but reliably ignite multiple first and second stage composite and black powder motors. Click on this link to read more about the current and future testing of this new up coming product. http://www.rocketryforum.com/showthread.php?t=44798

The MF-KIT is used solely for making MF-12 electric matches. The MF-KIT ematches are meant as a replacement for the Daveyfire 'B' style matches, and are suitable for rocketry deployment charges and other simliar uses, but are not suitable for igniting rocket motors on their own. This new low amp pre-stripped one foot long electric match blank can be fired off with as little as a single 1.5v AA alkaline battery. The no fire (N/F) rating is 0.92 amps and the all fire (A/F) rating is 1.6 amps.

Once activated this pre-measured 4 bottle kit will make hundreds of low amp high temperature (magnesium) MF-12 electric matches. This kit includes a water proofing sealer and thinner and all necessary tools and instructions. Designed specifically to be a near substitute for the commercially made electric squibs currently being used to fire the ejection charge in most altimeter or timer equipped rockets. NOTE: First time purchasers of the MF-KIT must sign and date the order form and fax it to us before we can ship this product to you.

G-Wiz altimeters are compatible with the MagFire Electric match. Click here for more information.

Standard Magnelite igniter kits

Tired of seeing your rocket motor fail to ignite? Then it’s time for Magnelite. Available in kit form. No hazmat fee! Does not require a LEUP to store the left over pyrogen! Make several electric matches in just minutes. Magnelite dipped e-matches are designed for rocket motor ignition.

ML-KIT includes the necessary mixing tools, chemicals, and instructions to make 40 grams of pyrogen. This is enough pyrogen to make an estimated 900 non-folded ML-12 electric matches at a cost to you of just under $0.95 a piece! This highly reliable electric match is great for all your motor clustering needs, no more need for thermolite!

Because of our new formulated mixture this electric match will reliably fire every time even on the most humid of days. Once ignited the pyrogen burns for approximately one second at a temperature around 5,400 degrees Fahrenheit! Amperage requirement for successful ignition is 5 to 6 amps at 12 volts DC per igniter. Caution: if you are going to ignite a cluster of motors make sure the launching system can instantly deliver enough amperage. Example: 6 igniters x 6 amps each = 36 amps needed to reliably ignite all 6 igniters.

Each match ohms out at 0.8 ohm (+) or (-) 0.2 of ohm, no guess work here, unlike some other brands.

For second stage ignition we recommend using the Transolve T2 two-channel timer. This timer can handle up to 10 amps.
